7808 Cookham Manor with the 10.00 Cheltenham - Southampton Terminus on Monday 24th September 1956. The service was due at Town 11.32-11.42, with any passengers wishing to go to Swindon Junction having to wait for the 12.38 'Dodger' service - seen to the left of the photo. The wait was in order to pick up any passengers off the 10.10 from Southampton Terminus service due to arrive Town at 12.19. Photographer H.C. Casserley captured 7808 about half an hour later on that day at Ogbourne, so either he travelled on the train, or maybe chased it in his trusty Hillman!
