Marlborough and Savernake courtesy of Alan Perry

I am greatly indebited to Alan, a previous resident of Marlborough, for providing the following excellent photographic records of Marlborough and Savernake.

An aerial view of Marlborough from the late 1970's after the line had been taken up. The tree line shows the route of the M&SWJR traversing the east (left) of the town. By this time both stations (top left) had been removed.

The top left of the image (either side of the road) shows the previous site of the Low Level (M&SWJR) and High Level (GWR) stations.

Central Marlborough with the main shopping area clearly visible.

A close up of the site of the two stations located on either side of the road.

Another close up of the site of the two stations located on either side of the road.
